Level III Trauma Center

Taylor Regional Hospital is verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on trauma and is also one of sixteen designated Trauma Centers and one of four Level III Trauma Centers in Kentucky. In addition, we are the longest consistently verified Level III Trauma Center in the United States.

A Level III Trauma Center provides prompt assessment, resuscitation, emergency operations, and stabilization through the prompt availability of a surgeon. For critically injured patients requiring treatment not available at a Level III Trauma Center, transfer agreements with Level I Trauma Centers are maintained.

In addition to the Trauma Center, the Emergency Department at Taylor Regional Hospital is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a physician on staff at all times.
