In case you thought you’d missed it – you’re in luck!  The H.O.P.E. Gala will be returning on Saturday, October 18, 2008 as “An Evening in Italy.”  The community-based Taylor Regional Hospital fundraising event has been huge success each year, raising approximately $100,000 for the pediatric expansion at TRH in 2005 and $50,000 for the hospitality van service in 2006.  “We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of participation by not only attendees of the actual event but also by volunteers and supporters who worked countless hours to ensure that we had a successful event each year,” says Jane Wheatley, CEO of Taylor Regional Hospital.  “Last year we were able to obtain enough funding to begin our hospitality van service.  This service has been invaluable to individuals who needed to get to our facility, but were having transportation issues.  We continue to pursue additional funding for this service in order to continue to offer this free of charge.  This year, we are collaborating with many individuals to put together what, I think, will be a splendid evening.”

The target for this year’s funds will be to renovate the current area used for the surgical services waiting area.  “Taylor Regional Hospital has experienced a phenomenal growth over the past several years and we are serving more patients today than ever before,” says Chris Reynolds, TRH Board of Trustees Chairman.  “A large number of individuals that we serve at TRH come here for surgery and their families and friends visit and offer their support.  We want to be able to offer them a comfortable and inviting place to wait while their loved ones are receiving services here.  With the money raised with this year’s gala, we hope to provide a modern, comfortable waiting area for those individuals.”

One notable change from last year’s gala is the location.  “Alex Montgomery has graciously offered his car lot for us to use for the event,” says Ms. Wheatley.  “We are so appreciative of his willingness to help our community by offering this location for us.” The Trendell’s will provide music for dancing and a live and silent auction will also take place.  Masterson’s Catering will again be providing a delicious Italian meal for all in attendance.  ‘We are once again privileged to have paintings done by local artist, Brent Burgess, to auction at the event,” says Ms. Wheatley.  Mr. Burgess always does a fantastic job and graciously donates his artwork for our fundraising efforts.”   These paintings will be on display at various locations around Campbellsville before the Gala.
