Sterile Processing Technician

Position: 🧼 Sterile Processing Technician 🧼
Location: Surgical Services at Taylor Regional Hospital, Kentucky
Schedule: Full-time position-days

What You’ll Do:

◉ Inspects instruments and equipment prior to processing and notifies Bio-Med, Director/Charge Nurse of needs for repair, replacement, etc.
◉ Implements steps and procedures to appropriately package materials, identifying contents, inserting control monitors, decreasing contamination, etc.
◉ Participates in required education, competencies, and annual training.
◉ Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other team members.
◉ Follows HIPAA compliance.
◉ Performs disinfection procedures for the O.R. department and other ancillary departments according to manufacturer guidelines and hospital policies.
◉ Performs hospital wide quality controls and prepares end of month reports.
◉ Demonstrates clinical knowledge, skills and abilities to provide efficient (timely) patient care via monitoring scheduled cases, turnover of rooms, etc.

What We’re Looking For:

➤ High School Diploma or equivalent
➤ CRCST within 2 years pf taking position
➤ Preferred 1-2+ yrs experience
➤ medical training preferred

➤ Ability to work in both decontamination and sterile processing environments
➤ Maintain accurate and concise documentation
➤ Prolonged standing and walking throughout shift
➤ Strong organizational skills
