Position: 🎓 Nurse Extern 🎓
Location: TBD (Department Rotation) at Taylor Regional Hospital, Kentucky
Schedule: PRN positions- Varied Shifts

What You’ll Do:

◉ Provide nursing assistance under the continuous onsite supervision of a Registered Nurse
◉ Perform acts that are routinely part of any Nursing Assistant's job description in addition to acts that have been taught in their nursing education program provided that they are individually educationally prepared and clinically competent to perform the acts
◉ Understands and maintains safety instructions including MSDS/SDS, Environment of Care, Infection Control Plan, Incident Reporting, Back Safety, Electrical Safety and HealthStream required safety courses.
◉ Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other team members, physicians including call lights and telephone etiquette.
◉ Maintains security of nursing area and ensures privacy through HIPAA regulations.
◉ Demonstrates knowledge of emergent situations and responds appropriately.
◉ Provides all necessary employee health needs (i.e., flu, TB, etc.) and proof of CPR or obtain as needed and complete all orientation requirements.
◉ Supports an environment conductive to quality patient care delivery and assists in orientation to new staff.
◉ Maintains organized environment and demonstrates sensitivity to patient safety and privacy.
◉ Will float to other nursing departments as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

Nursing students who are enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program and have completed:
➤ Their first year in an Associate Degree Nursing Program
➤ Or their Junior year in a Bachelor's of Science Nursing Program
➤ Or their second semester in a Practical Nursing Program are eligible for the Nurse Extern Program.

-----Job Requirements------
➤ Proof of active enrollment will be verified by submitting documentation of the Student's Skills Performance Evaluation
or an official letter from the nursing program documenting the specific skills that the student has successfully completed in his/her program of nursing.
➤ Available to work flexible shifts including weekends for the 10-week program

🎉 After successful completion of the program, the student may choose to continue working as a PRN employee, if requested by Department Director. 🎉
